Easterseals VT’s Raised More Than $20,000 At Its Annual Over The Edge Event

Barre, VT, July 24, 2024 — On Saturday, July 20 a crowd gathered around the North Barre Manor, one of the tallest buildings in the state, to watch 31 brave participants rappel for Vermont neighbors. Over the Edge is Easterseals VT’s annual fundraising event, where participants raise a minimum of $1,000 in support of Easterseals VT’s programs and services.

The event raised over $20,000 to support a wide array of services that help families create safety and well-being, provide prevention and stabilization for at-risk youth, help adoptive families locate resources, and more.

Funds raised from the event support a wide array of services for at-risk children and families.

Last Summer, the event was postponed due to severe flooding throughout Central Vermont. Despite this, Easterseals VT managed to make a positive impact by donating $5,000 from M&T Bank’s sponsorship to the Barre Community Relief Fund.

This year, the Barre community rallied together to make this event possible, including the event-building sponsor, the Barre Housing Authority, which has hosted it at the Manor since 2022. “We are proud to partner and support the work that Easterseals VT does to strengthen families across our community,” shares Jaime Chioldi, Executive Director of Barre Housing Authority.

Easterseals VT appreciates the support of everyone involved who helped make the event a success, from volunteers, donors, staff, and sponsors. If you’re interested in supporting Easterseals VT’s mission, donations can be sent to Easterseals VT, 14 North Main Street, Suite 3004, Barre VT 05641, or online at https://eastersealsvt.org/donate-now/.
